Teri is a lifelong resident of Champaign, having attended Centennial High School and Parkland College. She received an Associate's degree in business administration in 1982 and has worked as an administrative assistant in a variety of industries.
Teri joined Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing in 1992. Since that time she has been in charge of the day-to-day operation of the business. She has attended numerous seminars that permit her to employ the latest court reporter technology such as providing E-transcripts, CD ROM depositions with hyperlinked exhibits, and running the video conferencing equipment.
Teri's principal responsibility is to ensure that Area Wide's clients receive outstanding service.
Teri lives in Champaign. She enjoys spending time with her son and his family, her friends, going to the Fighting Illini games and traveling.
June received her BS from Husson College Bangor, Maine, in 1983. She worked as a court reporter in Augusta, Maine until 1985. She started her career at Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing in 1985.
June has passed three national certification tests, the Registered Professional Reporter, Registered Merit Reporter and Certified Realtime Reporter. She is an Illinois state speed contest qualifier and a certified LiveNote® reporter.
June has attended numerous seminars to stay current with the advancements in court reporting. She applies what she has learned to the challenges of providing realtime reporting for the most complex cases.
June lives in rural Ford County with her husband, Jon, and their son Jared. She is an organic gardener, has studied Kung-Fu, yoga, belly dancing and is a certified Energy Medicine Practitioner. She has hiked the Grand Canyon, the Appalachian Trail and enjoys white water rafting.
Mary Pat graduated from Triton College in 1979. She began her court reporting career in Chicago, working for a large downtown agency for four years.
Mary Pat passed the national certification test and became a Registered Professional Reporter in 1979.
Mary Pat started working for Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing in 1983. Taking a nine-year break to raise her four children, she returned to court reporting in 1995.
Mary Pat likes court reporting because she enjoys coming into contact with new people each day on the job.
Mary Pat lives in Rantoul with her husband Joe. Her daughter Amy graduated from the University of Illinois, and her other three children, Tom, Katie and Maggie are pursuing their college degrees.
Becky graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1998 with a BS degree in court reporting. She worked as a freelance court reporter in Indianapolis for a year. She joined Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing in 1999.
Becky passed the national test and became a Registered Professional Reporter in 1999. She likes the day-to-day challenges of freelance court reporting work.
She lives in the Danville area with her husband, Floyd, and their two children, Gracelyn and Benjamin.
Ann received her court reporting training from the Stenotype Institute, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, graduating in just 11 months in 1979. She passed the Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporter examination in 1979. She was employed as an official reporter by the State of Illinois for eight years, working in civil and criminal court, reporting over 100 jury trials.
In 1988 she joined the team at Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing. She has continued her court work, covering jury trials in Federal Court. Ann likes reporting complex litigation cases and providing realtime services.
Ann lives in Champaign with her husband, Don, and their two children, Kari, a University of Illinois senior, and Kirby. She enjoys wine, country music, reading for pleasure and the TV series "24."
Amy received her court reporting degree from Midstate College, Peoria, Illinois in 1987. She worked as a freelance reporter in Indianapolis for two years, then returned to Illinois where she worked as an official reporter in the Vermilion County Courthouse. In 1993 she joined Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing.
Amy passed the Federal Certified Realtime Reporter examination in 2008. Amy likes the challenges of court reporting, especially providing realtime services for clients.
Amy lives in the Danville area with her husband, John, and daughters Ashley, Ellie, and Macy.
Barb graduated from Universal Career College, Springfield, Illinois, in 1973. She worked as an official reporter for Sangamon County, Springfield, Illinois, before she moved to Mattoon in 1983 and began her freelance reporting career. Barb joined Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing in 1992.
Barb passed the Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporter test in 1973. When she passed the national Certified Realtime Reporter test in 2000, she was one of only about 100 certified realtime reporters in the United States. Barb is a LiveNote® certified reporter. She is also certified in the State of Missouri.
Barb is very interested in the technology and software advances in the court reporting industry. She likes the challenge of applying what she has learned to the complex cases she reports.
Barb lives in Mattoon. She enjoys golfing, baking and flower gardening.
Jill graduated from Sparks College in 1996, completing the two-year court reporting program in just 13 months.
Jill passed the national certification test of Registered Professional Reporter in 1996. She started her reporting career in southern Illinois in 1997, and joined Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing in 2005.
Jill lives in Villa Grove with her husband, Mike, and their two sons, Jared and Parker. She enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, shopping and exercising.
Debbie attended Lakeland Community College, graduating with a business degree in court reporting in 1982. She started her reporting career as an official reporter in Vermilion County, working in both the criminal and civil courtrooms.
Debbie had an opportunity to fulfill her dream of being a flight attendant and worked for American Airlines for ten years. In 1995 she returned to court reporting, joining the staff at Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing. She likes the daily challenges that being a court reporter offer.
Debbie lives in Decatur with her husband, Steve, and daughter Nicole. Their son Andrew is a high honors graduate from the Air Force Linguistic School, with a specialization in Korean. Debbie loves traveling, spending time with her family and gourmet cooking.
Dana attended the American Institute of Commerce, Bettendorf, Iowa, receiving an Associate's degree in court reporting. She began her reporting career as an official reporter in Rockford, Illinois, rotating between civil and criminal courtrooms.
Dana passed the test to be a certified real-time reporter in 2009.
Dana passed the national Registered Professional Reporter examination in 2000. She started at Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing in 1996.
Dana likes the challenges of court reporting and the learning opportunities provided by expert witnesses as they present a wide range of topics.
Dana, who lives in Decatur, enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews. She volunteers with the Big Brother/Big Sister program.
Shelley attended court reporting school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduating in 1990. She began her freelance reporting career in Norman, Oklahoma, working there for four years. She joined Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing in 1994.
Shelley has passed two national certification tests, the Registered Professional Reporter examination and the Certified Realtime Reporter.
Shelley likes the challenge of freelance reporting work because of the variety of cases she is assigned, from arbitration hearings, Federal Court proceedings to medical malpractice litigation. She especially likes providing realtime reporting.
Shelley lives in Bloomington with her husband, Dave, and their two daughters, Teagan and Kellan. She enjoys competing in dog agility contests with her West Highland Terrier, and attending her daughters' basketball and volleyball games.
Fran attended Midstate College, Peoria, Illinois. In 1984 she graduated with a degree in court reporting. Since that time she has worked as a freelance reporter for Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing.
Fran enjoys her profession, especially the day-to-day challenges that court reporting provide and the interesting people she meets.
Fran lives in Bloomington with her husband, Steve, and their three cats. She likes antiques, vintage cars and historic houses.
Janet was born and raised in Central Illinois. She attended Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee, obtaining an Associate's degree in business administration. She also attended Midstate College, Peoria, Illinois, receiving a degree with high honors in court reporting.
Janet has worked continuously at Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing since 1990. She loves the people, the challenges and the diversity of experiences that the court reporter profession provides.
Janet lives in Champaign with her husband, Jeff. She enjoys cooking, playing the piano and travel.
Audrey graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in 1978 with a high honors degree in court reporting. She started her freelance career in Champaign. In 1980 she opened Area Wide Reporting. Since that time, Area Wide Reporting and Video Conferencing has grown from two reporters to 14.
At the time Audrey started her court reporting career, there was no computer translation. She purchased her first computer system in 1983. Since then, technology has been her main interest.
She loves managing the reporting business, solving problems for clients and maintaining the highest standards for Area Wide's reporters.
Audrey served two terms on the Illinois Shorthand Reporters Licensing Board, the last term as Vice Chairperson.
Audrey lives in Champaign with her husband, Chuck. She enjoys golfing, gardening and traveling.
